foct-1024About three weeks ago, we mentioned the launch of the Cycle Touring Festival, organised by fellow long-distance cycle tourist Laura Moss. The list of speakers and panellists has now been announced, and it’s an impressive collection: among those present will be Emily Chappell, currently cycling from Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle (and our favourite cycle blogger); Neil and Harriet Pike, high-altitude addicts who know the Peruvian Andes and the Argentine Puna better than anyone; Helen Lloyd, last seen cycling through Siberia in winter; Tom Allen, a longtime cyclist and touring advocate who spent December riding a horse across Patagonia; and, er, us. We’re not sure we belong on the same playbill as these intrepid adventurers, but we hope our tales from the roads and trails of Latin America will provide a little light entertainment. The festival will take place at Waddow Hall in Clitheroe, Lancashire on the weekend of May 1-3. Along with full details of all the speakers, tickets are now available from the festival website.
